Obertshausen – Karl Mayer has announced the appointment of Dr. Helmut Preßl as its new Commercial Director. As of 1st February Dr. Preßl is to work alongside Fritz P. Mayer in Karl Mayer’s top management.
45 year old Dr. Preßl has a doctorate in business administration and was employed for many years in a variety of managerial positions at Siemens AG, where he was mainly involved with solving IT applications for use in production control and with business analysis within the area of corporate finance. He was also the commercial director for drive and automation technology products and in his last few years at Siemens AG, Dr. Preßl was the commercial director of the Electronic Assembly Systems, and later of Dematic Holding and Dematic GmbH in Luxembourg and Offenbach.
From 2005 up to the time when he took on this new position, Dr. Preßl, in his role as Commercial Director, was responsible for the carve-out of Dematic from the Siemens Group into medium-sized, independent companies, as well as for restructuring them. He became the commercial director of Dematic’s global business, which operated as a medium-sized, independent company.
Dr. Preßl was born in Bavaria and now lives in Hesse. He is looking forward to bringing his commitment and knowledge to bear in a medium-sized, family-run company. He believes that his primary function is to support the process of reorganisation that is currently under way, and to coordinate international networks, an area in which he has had a great deal of experience.
