Unifi boosted by improved market conditions

Improvement in Australian wool production forecast for 2010-11

INDA releases landmark report on China’s nonwovens industry

Defender M fabric to protect Norwegian marines

Almelo - TenCate Protective Fabrics reports it has secured a important order from the Swedish manufacturer Gulins Business Design AB for the supply to the Norwegian FLO (Defence Logistic Organisation) of inherently flame-resistant TenCate Defender M fabric in the new colour dark blue. The order involves the supply of fabric for more than 25,000 sets of clothing over two years to protect the Norwegian marines.

New distributor for Hengli industrial polyesters in Americas

Charlotte - David T. Rouse and partner have formed Carolina-Pacific Fibers, LLC to import and distribute Hengli industrial polyester yarns in the Americas. The company’s headquarters are located near Charlotte, NC, in the heart of the US market for industrial polyester. Jiangsu Hengli Chemical Fibre Co. Ltd, based in Wujiang, Jiangsu, China has an annual industrial polyester capacity of 200,000 tons.

Lace maker Noyon remains independent

Lenzing acquires Czech pulp producer

Lenzing - Lenzing AG, a company quoted on the Vienna stock exchange and a leader in the manufacture of cellulose fibres, has acquired a 75 % share in Czech pulp producer Biocel Paskov A.S. Biocel’s owner, Austrian company Heinzel Holding, will keep a 25 % share in the company and manage paper pulp distribution.

Defender M shirts for U.S. Marine Corps

Almelo - The U.S. Marine Corps Systems Command has awarded a contract of 180,000 garments over 18 months for the U.S Marine Corps flame resistant Inclement Weather Combat Shirt (IWCS). This program was awarded to Short Bark Inc., a Venore (Tennessee, USA) based company, which has already begun production on these garments. TenCate Defense & Tactical, as a business unit of TenCate Protective Fabrics USA, will provide TenCate Defender(TM) M fabrics to fulfil the order. The garments will be distributed to U.S. Marines deployed abroad, such as those based in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF).
