Italian machinery showcase to be held in Raleigh, NC

Milan - The Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers (ACIMIT) and the Italian Trade Commission (ICE) is to organize organize a technical workshop dedicated to Italian technology for the nonwovens and technical textile industries, in partnership with the Nonwovens Institute of North Carolina State University. The event will take place at North Carolina State University in Raleigh on November 11th and 12th, 2009.

Santoni Days 2009: exhibition highlights

Brescia - Visitor’s to Italy’s hosiery machinery capital were not disappointed when the Santoni Group opened its doors for its established Santoni Days event from 8-10 October. Visitors were introduced to a range of Santoni’s ‘New Age Seamless’ innovations at a well attended show with a positive atmosphere and real international flavour.

First up from Santoni was a brand new version of its double needle bar warp knit machine for seamless garment manufacture. Its SWD8, which was showcased at last year’s Santoni Days, has now been superseded with the updated and much improved SWD4/2J.

DyStar seeks investor but continues supplying customers

Frankfurt Am Main - DyStar, the Frankfurt-based chemical company and global supplier of dyes, additives and services for the textile and leather processing industries, can continue supplying its customers whilst it seeks new investors. “We have made great progress in our talks with banks and secured creditors. This allows us for the time being to continue our operations at DyStar Textilfarben GmbH and resume delivery of our products,” confirmed the preliminary insolvency administrator appointed by the Frankfurt District Court Miguel Grosser from the law firm Jaffé Rechtsanwälte Insolvenzverwalter. Deliveries to customers resumed on Monday, 12 October.

Unifi expands Repreve offer in China with polyester staple

A+A 2009 focuses on disaster control

Lonati sells 2500 machines to China’s Zhejiang Langsha

Brescia - Italy’s Lonati Group has signed a contract worth 35 million Euros with leading Chinese sock and hosiery producer Zhejiang Langsha Stocking Ltd for 2500 machines, including 2350 Lonati machines and 150 Santoni seamless machines. The contract amounts to about five months worth of work for the Brescia company, which produces on average 7000 machines per year.

Mayer & Cie insolvent: Business to continue as normal

Albstadt – World leading circular knitting machine builder Mayer & Cie filed for insolvency at the local court of Hechingen in Germany. Dr Wolfgang Bilgery has been appointed as its insolvency administrator. However, the company is believed to be under restructuring and the partners are believed to have injected fresh capital into the business. The company has said that it is confident it will restructure successfully and business will continue as normal.
